For more than 30 years, Fred Wilson & Associates has provided engineering services to industrial and institutional clients who oversee campuses of all sizes. FW&A has design experience with extended properties that accommodate high-tech industry, higher education, manufacturing, tourism, healthcare, commercial endeavors and correctional system institutions. Almost all campus-oriented projects focus on design of electrical power distribution.
Campus-oriented electrical engineering services include:
- Field investigation and documentation of existing electrical systems
- Campus power system analysis (including loadflow, coordination and fault studies)
- Design of electrical substations of all voltages
- Comprehensive design of power distribution systems up to 35kV (including system-wide overhead-to-underground conversions, voltage conversions and cable/ductbank system replacements)
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping for power distribution systems with tools such as ArcFM
- Exterior lighting design (including lighting for open areas, roadways, airfields and security)
- Design of campus-wide communications systems
In support of its campus electrical projects, FW&A provides civil and structural engineering for control and switchgear buildings, electrical vaults and equipment foundations. The firm also designs campus parking lots, roads, bridges, water/sewer lines and airfields.
